Āsana Lab – Chakras
Have you ever felt “something special” during or right after a yoga session?
Some sensation that’s difficult to explain and describe, yet that sensation clearly existed within you at that moment?
According to the tradition of yoga, alongside the anatomy we know, there also exists a subtle anatomy.
It is made up of anatomical elements that don’t have a clearly definable physical location — their boundaries are ethereal, invisible, yet they can be felt and perceived. Just like the anatomical elements we know, the subtle ones are also directly connected to specific functions and actions, and even to ways of being, thinking, and existing in this life.
Within this ancient subtle anatomy of yoga, there are many elements, but perhaps the most well-known are the CHAKRAS.
They are energetic centers, “spaces” where we store and through which we manage vital energy (prana).
According to the definition by Anodea Judith, who deeply inspires me:
A chakra is a chamber in the temple of the body that receives, assimilates, and transmits vital energy.
In fact, it can be more modernly defined with the word “frequency.” Each chakra is associated with a different frequency level, and therefore with states of consciousness that range from the most basic (like the survival instinct) to the most intuitive and sublime.
Connecting with these frequencies and the states of consciousness they awaken is one of the main objectives of yoga. From this point of view, it becomes very clear what distinguishes yoga from any other physical discipline or sport. Yoga awakens levels of consciousness through the tools of the body and Asana.
Each session lasts two hours: we begin with a theoretical introduction talk and continue with a unique Anusara® Yoga practice.
Each session is dedicated to a specific chakra.
